Rachael Hiatt is an associate whose practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, appellate, intellectual property, and insurance coverage cases.  Before joining Hayes Scott, she worked for the California District Attorneys Association where she was part of the Environmental Circuit Prosecutor Project. 

Rachael graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2013, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish.  She also studied Spanish literature and psychology at the Universitat de Barcelona from 2011-2012, and was an English instructor abroad.  Rachael then graduated from University of California, Davis School of Law in 2017. 

During law school she worked as a law clerk for an employment law firm, the California Air Resources Board, a labor union, and multiple environmental nonprofits.  Rachael served as Articles Editor for the UC Davis Law Review and Senior Articles Editor for Environs: Environmental Law and Policy Journal.  Rachael was also a research assistant for Professor David Horton and Dean Kevin Johnson.

Rachael is licensed to practice before all courts of the State of California and the United States District Courts for the Northern, Central, Eastern, and Southern Districts of California.
